Set Highlights
Charizard ex appears in several versions and is the card most collectors chase. Vespiquen ex, Revavroom ex and Eiscue ex add variety, and Supporters such as Geeta, Ortega, Poppy and Ryme bring Paldea’s characters to the table. Town Department Store and Pokémon League Headquarters appear as Stadiums.
Ruler of the Black Flame and Obsidian Flames
The English Obsidian Flames expansion includes cards from Ruler of the Black Flame, along with leftover cards from other Japanese sets. Buying the Japanese box lets you open the original release with Japanese text; just remember the cards aren’t legal for English-language tournaments.
Several Japanese retailers, the Pokémon Center among them, remove shrink wrap upon purchase to discourage resale. Choose Shrink for a wrapped box, or No Shrink if the outer film doesn’t matter to you.
