Description
Buy the Chinese Vivid Portrayals Charizard Jumbo from Obsidia TCG and open big 25-card packs from the Charizard half of a Simplified Chinese Sword & Shield set. Vivid Portrayals (浓墨重彩) was the fourth Simplified Chinese expansion and launched in mainland China on 18 August 2023.
What’s in the Chinese Vivid Portrayals Charizard Jumbo
- 1 sealed jumbo booster box from the Obsidian (黎) subset, set code CS2a
- 25-card Simplified Chinese booster packs
- 1 guaranteed Pokémon V in each 25-card pack
Bulbapedia’s Vivid Portrayals page lists the 25-card format at 24 packs per box, with a Pokémon V in each. All other cards are random.
The Obsidian Subset
Vivid Portrayals has 286 cards across two subsets. Obsidian (CS2a) has Gigantamax Charizard on its cover, while Indigo (CS2b) features Eternatus. Like other China-only Sword & Shield sets, it gathers a large number of cards to catch up with Japanese and international releases, and Simplified Chinese sets add Reverse Holofoil versions of their Commons, Uncommons and Rares.
Jumbo or Standard Box?
We also sell the standard Vivid Portrayals Charizard box, which holds 30 packs of five cards. The jumbo box swaps lots of small packs for fewer, bigger ones, and the Pokémon V in every pack makes it the richer box to open for V hunters. Charizard fans who keep a sealed collection often pick the jumbo for its size on the shelf. Simplified Chinese cards are printed for the mainland China market, so this box is aimed at collectors rather than UK tournament players.
Collecting Tips
Every card carries its subset mark, so if you later add Indigo cards to your binder, you can keep the two halves of the set apart easily. Sleeve the Pokémon V cards straight away, and keep the box flat and out of sunlight if you plan to leave it sealed.
