How Riftbound Plays
Riftbound is set in Runeterra, the world of League of Legends. Each player builds a deck around a Champion Legend, adds a separate rune deck for resources and sends units to fight over shared battlefields. Riot’s Riftbound getting started page sums up the goal: first to 8 points wins, or 11 in a four-player game. Cards belong to six domains, so the champions you enjoy shape which cards you look for.
Chinese or English Riftbound?
Both editions are the same game, but Chinese boxes are printed in Chinese and use their own formats, with names such as slim and jumbo. English boxes suit players at UK events, while Chinese boxes appeal to collectors who love the artwork or want a different language for their binder. Our Riftbound booster box guide compares the sets and formats in detail, including which sets reached China before their English release.
