Description
Buy an English Shining Fates booster pack from Obsidia TCG and open a pack from one of the Sword & Shield era’s special sets. Shining Fates was released on 19 February 2021 and is known for its Shiny Vault, a subset full of Shiny Pokémon.
What’s in a Shining Fates Booster Pack
- 1 sealed English Shining Fates booster pack
- Randomly assorted cards from the Shining Fates set
- The original Sword & Shield era pack wrapper
How Shining Fates Packs Were Sold
Shining Fates was a special set, and Bulbapedia’s Shining Fates page notes that its booster packs were only available inside specially marked products rather than in booster boxes. Single packs like this one come from those products, so a loose pack is a simple way to open the set without buying a whole collection or Elite Trainer Box.
The Shiny Vault
The set’s 122-card Shiny Vault subset is its big attraction. It’s packed with Shiny versions of familiar Pokémon, and the headline card is Shiny Charizard in its Gigantamax form as Charizard VMAX. Pack contents are random, so no card is guaranteed, and any Shiny Vault pull is a bonus rather than something to count on.
Who It’s For
A single pack suits a nostalgic opening for Sword & Shield collectors, a small gift for a Charizard fan, or a top-up for a Shiny Vault binder. Sleeve any holo or Shiny cards straight away: the set is now more than five years old, and well-kept cards look far better in a binder.
