Who It’s For
Battle decks are made for new players and for anyone who wants a complete deck without building one card by card. The strategy sheet explains how the deck plays, and the double-sided playmat gives you a clear layout for the game, so two people can learn the rules together. Pair it with the Mega Gengar ex deck and you have a ready-made two-player game. The code card also lets you play the same deck online in Pokémon TCG Live, which is a handy way to practise between games at the kitchen table.
Battle Deck or Booster Packs?
A battle deck contains a fixed list of cards, not random booster packs, so you know exactly what you’re getting. That makes it a reliable gift for a child or a friend who’s just getting started. Once they’re comfortable, booster packs and Elite Trainer Boxes are the next step to customise the deck. Our Pokémon TCG guides are a good place to read up on deck building.
