What’s in the Japanese Mega Gallade ex Special Card Set
- Mega Gallade ex promo card (068/M-P)
- Ralts (066/M-P) and Kirlia (067/M-P) promo cards
- Premium Power Pro promo card (069/M-P)
- Japanese booster packs
- A Pokémon coin
The Promo Cards
Bulbapedia’s M-P promo list credits all four promos, numbers 066 to 069, to the Special Card Set Mega Gallade ex, so this box is where they come from. Ralts and Kirlia are the earlier stages of Gallade’s line, which means you can play the evolution together straight away. Premium Power Pro is a Trainer card released alongside them. Having the promos in matching Japanese prints also makes the line look tidy in a binder, with Ralts, Kirlia and Mega Gallade ex side by side on one page.
Playing Mega Gallade ex
As a Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, Mega Gallade ex has high HP and strong attacks, but it gives up three Prize cards when Knocked Out instead of the two for a regular Pokémon ex. Japanese cards are not tournament-legal in English play, but a set like this is a great way to enjoy Mega Evolution at home, and Japanese promos are prized by collectors for binders and display.
