Pokémon Prismatic Evolutions Guide

A complete guide to Prismatic Evolutions, the Eevee special set: its 180 cards, the chase cards collectors want and what's inside the main products.

13 min read

If you’ve been searching for Pokémon Prismatic Evolution, you’re looking for one of the most talked-about Pokémon TCG sets of recent years: the Eevee special expansion released in English on 17 January 2025. Its official name is Scarlet & Violet—Prismatic Evolutions, plural, because it celebrates Eevee and all eight of its Evolutions. Plenty of collectors drop the “s” when they search, so you’ll see both versions used, but they mean the same set.

Below you’ll find what the set is, its size and structure, the cards collectors chase, and every main product, from the Elite Trainer Box and the Pokémon Center version to the Super-Premium Collection, binder, poster and sticker collections, surprise box, mini tins and booster bundle. We’ll also explain why there’s no English booster box for it.

What Is the Pokémon Prismatic Evolution Set?

Prismatic Evolutions is a special expansion in the Scarlet & Violet series, built around Eevee and its Evolutions as Stellar Tera Pokémon ex. That means Eevee, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon and Sylveon all appear as Pokémon ex with the Stellar Tera type, alongside a wider cast of Pokémon and Supporters from the Paldea region.

Most of its cards come from the Japanese Terastal Festival ex set, which was released in Japan on 6 December 2024. The English version followed on 17 January 2025, and it arrived digitally in Pokémon TCG Live a day earlier, according to the official launch announcement from The Pokémon Company International.

Like other special sets, it wasn’t released in standard booster boxes. Instead, its packs were spread across a long list of collection products released through 2025. That’s a big part of why Pokémon Prismatic Evolution products are so recognisable: almost every box features Eevee or one of its Evolutions on the front.

Why Collectors Love This Set

Eevee has always been a special case among Pokémon. With eight Evolutions across several generations, almost every fan has a favourite, whether that’s Umbreon, Sylveon, Vaporeon or another member of the family. A set that gives every one of them a Pokémon ex and a special illustration rare means there’s something for nearly everyone.

It also suits a wide range of collectors. Younger fans enjoy opening packs full of instantly recognisable Pokémon, long-time collectors can chase a complete Eevee family page, and players get a set of cards that genuinely work well together. We’ll look at that last point next.

  • Pack art: four booster pack designs featuring Eevee and Sylveon, Vaporeon with Jolteon and Flareon, Espeon and Umbreon, and Leafeon and Glaceon.

These figures come from the official announcement and Bulbapedia’s Prismatic Evolutions page, and the card numbers below were checked against Limitless TCG.

How the Card List Is Structured

The main set runs from 001 to 131. This is where you’ll find the commons, uncommons, rares, ACE SPEC cards and the regular Pokémon ex, including the Stellar Tera ex versions of Eevee and each Evolution. Every Eeveelution has a main set ex card: Espeon ex is 034, Sylveon ex is 041, Umbreon ex is 060 and Eevee ex is 075, for example.

Above 131, the secret rares are arranged in three clear blocks:

  • 132–143, ultra rares: 12 full-art Supporters, including Amarys, Atticus, Brassius, Eri, Giacomo, Mela, Ortega and Tyme.
  • 144–175, special illustration rares: 26 Pokémon ex, including all nine Eevee family cards, followed by six Supporters: Amarys, Crispin, Drayton, Janine’s Secret Art, Kieran and Lacey.
  • 176–180, hyper rares: gold Iron Leaves ex, Teal Mask Ogerpon ex, Walking Wake ex, Pikachu ex and Terapagos ex.

One thing that sets this list apart from most Scarlet & Violet sets is that it has no illustration rare tier. Instead, the extra collecting layer comes from the Poké Ball and Master Ball pattern parallels. According to Bulbapedia, common, uncommon and rare Pokémon cards come in the regular reverse holo plus both patterns, while common and uncommon Trainer cards come only in the regular and Poké Ball versions.

Eevee ex and the Stellar Tera Cards in Play

Prismatic Evolutions isn’t only for binders. Eevee ex is a Basic Pokémon ex with 200 HP and an Ability called Rainbow DNA, which lets it evolve into any Pokémon ex that evolves from Eevee, as long as you play that card from your hand onto it. As with other Pokémon, it can’t evolve on your first turn or on the turn you play it.

Like other Tera Pokémon ex, Eevee ex also has a rule that prevents all damage done to it by attacks while it’s on your Bench. That makes it a safe card to set up behind your Active Pokémon while you wait to evolve.

The Evolutions build on that idea. Umbreon ex, for example, is a 280 HP Stage 1 Darkness Pokémon. Its Moon Mirage attack does 160 damage and leaves your opponent’s Active Pokémon Confused, while its Onyx attack discards all Energy from Umbreon ex and lets you take a Prize card. If you’d like to build an Eevee-themed deck from the cards you open, the Pokémon Prismatic Evolution cards give you plenty to work with.

The 10 Best Pokémon Prismatic Evolution Chase Cards

There’s no official ranking of chase cards, so this list reflects the cards collectors most associate with the set. Unsurprisingly, it’s dominated by the Eevee family special illustration rares, where each Pokémon gets its own full scene. Numbers and rarities below are from Bulbapedia’s set list, cross-checked on Limitless TCG.

The Eevee Family Special Illustration Rares

Collecting all nine Eevee family special illustration rares is the goal many collectors set themselves with this set. Umbreon ex at 161/131 is the card people mention first, and Espeon ex sits close to it at 155/131, which makes the pair a natural target for anyone who loves the Johto Eeveelutions. Sylveon ex and Eevee ex complete the most requested group.

Because the Eevee family cards are spread through the 144–175 block rather than grouped together, it helps to keep a checklist. Leafeon ex is the first at 144, then Flareon ex at 146, Vaporeon ex at 149, Glaceon ex at 150, Jolteon ex at 153, Espeon ex at 155, Sylveon ex at 156, Umbreon ex at 161 and Eevee ex at 167.

Hyper Rares and Supporters

The five gold hyper rares round off the list, with Pikachu ex at 179/131 and Terapagos ex at 180/131 as the last two cards in the set. On the Trainer side, the Supporter special illustration rares, such as Lacey at 175/131 and Amarys at 170/131, are popular with collectors who like character art as much as Pokémon.

Poké Ball and Master Ball Patterns

Don’t overlook the parallels. The Poké Ball and Master Ball pattern versions turn a main set binder into a much bigger project, because a single common Pokémon can have a standard version, a regular reverse holo and both patterns. Many collectors build a separate page just for their favourite Eeveelution in every pattern. If you’re aiming for a “master set”, plan for these from the start.

Is There a Pokémon Prismatic Evolution Booster Box?

No. Prismatic Evolutions is a special set, and in English it was not released in standard booster boxes. Its packs were sold inside products such as the Elite Trainer Box, booster bundle, collections and tins. As Dot Esports summed it up, there was no standard booster release, and you needed to buy one of the special products to get packs.

That’s why the booster bundle and the Elite Trainer Box are the formats most collectors compare. If you want to open a larger number of packs at once, the Super-Premium Collection has the most packs of the products covered here, while the bundle is the simplest pack-only option.

Pokémon Prismatic Evolution ETB vs Pokémon Center ETB

The Pokémon Prismatic Evolution ETB comes in two versions. The standard Elite Trainer Box contains nine booster packs and one illustration rare-style Eevee promo card. The Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box, which was sold through Pokémon Center in the UK, US and Canada, contains 11 booster packs and two Eevee promos, one of them with a Pokémon Center logo.

Both versions include the usual Elite Trainer Box accessories: 65 Eevee card sleeves, 45 Energy cards, a player’s guide, six damage-counter dice, a competition-legal coin-flip die, two plastic condition markers, a storage box with four dividers and a Pokémon TCG Live code card.

So the difference is simple. The Pokémon Center version gives you two extra packs and an extra stamped promo, and the standard Pokémon Prismatic Evolution ETB is the one you’ll find at most shops. We stock the English Pokémon Prismatic Elite Trainer Box, which isn’t listed as a Pokémon Center edition.

For most people, the standard ETB is the best starting point. You get a good number of packs, the Eevee promo and everything you need to play, all in a box that’s useful for storing cards afterwards.

Every Other Prismatic Evolutions Product

Beyond the ETB, the set was spread across a long run of products. Here’s what each one contains, based on the product details reported by PokeGuardian and Dot Esports and retailer copies of the official product text.

Release dates were spread across most of 2025. The ETBs and the Binder, Poster and Tech Sticker collections were listed for 17 January, the Surprise Box and mini tins for 7 February, the booster bundle for 7 March, the Accessory Pouch Special Collection for 25 April and the Super-Premium Collection for 16 May, with a Premium Figure Collection following later in the year.

Super-Premium Collection

The Super-Premium Collection is the largest of the main products. It contains 15 booster packs, a full-art foil Eevee ex promo card, a fuzzy Eevee deck box, a playmat featuring Eevee and its Evolutions, and 65 matching card sleeves, plus a Pokémon TCG Live code card. We list it as the English – Prismatic – Super Premium Collection Box.

Booster Bundle

The booster bundle holds six booster packs and nothing else. It’s the most straightforward way to open Pokémon Prismatic Evolution packs, because none of the box is taken up by accessories. Ours is the English – Prismatic Evolutions – 6 Booster Pack Bundle.

Binder Collection

The Binder Collection includes five booster packs and a nine-pocket album that holds up to 378 cards. If you plan to build the main set or a page of every Eeveelution, it’s a practical place to start. See the English – Prismatic – Binder Collection.

Poster Collection

The Poster Collection includes three booster packs, foil promo cards of Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon, and a poster of Eevee and its Evolutions. It’s a nice pick for younger fans who want something for their wall as well as packs to open. See the English – Prismatic – Poster Collection.

Tech Sticker Collection

The Tech Sticker Collection comes in three versions, each with three booster packs, one foil promo card of Leafeon, Glaceon or Sylveon, and a tech sticker sheet. See the English – Prismatic – Tech Sticker Collection.

Surprise Box

The Surprise Box includes four booster packs, a storage box with four dividers and one randomly selected foil promo card of Eevee ex or one of its Evolutions as a Stellar Tera Pokémon ex, chosen from nine possible promos. Bulbapedia lists these as Prismatic Evolutions-stamped versions of the nine Eevee family ex cards from the main set. Not knowing which promo you’ll get is part of the fun. Ours is the English – Prismatic – Surprise Box.

Mini Tins

The mini tins each contain two booster packs, an art card that matches the tin and an Eevee coin in one of eight colours. The tins feature the eight Eeveelutions, and their art cards are designed to be collected and combined. They’re small, sturdy and easy to give as a gift, and the tin is handy for storing a few favourite cards afterwards. See the English – Prismatic Evolutions – Mini Tin.

Later Products

The line-up also included an Accessory Pouch Special Collection, with five booster packs and an accessory pouch featuring Eevee’s face. Later in 2025 came a Premium Figure Collection built around Espeon and Umbreon, with 11 booster packs, etched foil promos of Espeon ex and Umbreon ex, a figure of the pair, a pin and 65 card sleeves. You’ll find our wider range of boxed products in the collection boxes category.

Which Prismatic Evolutions Product Should You Choose?

With so many options, it helps to start with what you want from the set:

  • You want the most packs in one box: the Super-Premium Collection, with 15 packs and an Eevee ex promo.
  • You want to start playing: the Pokémon Prismatic Evolution ETB, with nine packs, a promo and a full set of accessories.
  • You just want to open packs: the booster bundle, with six packs and no extras.
  • You’re building a binder: the Binder Collection gives you an album and five packs.
  • You want a surprise: the Surprise Box, with its random Stellar Tera ex promo.
  • You’re buying a small gift: a mini tin or the Poster Collection.

If you’re unsure, the ETB is the safest all-rounder. It suits both new players and collectors, and the box itself stays useful long after the packs are open.

Tips for Collecting Prismatic Evolutions

  • Pick your goal early. A full master set with every parallel is a much bigger project than the nine Eevee family special illustration rares.
  • Sleeve every special illustration rare straight away. Then move it to a toploader or a binder.
  • Keep a checklist. The Eevee family cards are spread across the secret rare block, so a checklist stops you missing one.
  • Look after your promos. Many products include an Eevee or Eeveelution promo, and they deserve the same care as your pulls.
  • Store sealed product properly. Keep boxes flat, dry and out of direct sunlight.
