What our Magic: The Gathering guides cover
Our MTG guide for UK players is the place to start. It covers the five colours and the card types, how a turn works, the main product types, popular ways to play such as Commander, Standard and Draft, and Universes Beyond. It also looks at the Reality Fracture set, including what is inside a Reality Fracture Play Booster. New Magic guides appear on this page as we publish them.
Coming back to Magic after a break?
If you last played a few years ago, the biggest change is the booster itself: Play Boosters arrived in 2024 and replaced Draft Boosters and Set Boosters, so each main set now has one standard pack for opening and drafting. The MTG guide has a short section on everything else returning players should know.
