The White Flare card list is Reshiram’s side of the Unova twin release, and it brings some of the most admired artwork of the Scarlet & Violet era, from Hilda to Hydreigon ex. White Flare reached English shelves on 18 July 2025 alongside Black Bolt, and the two sets were designed to be collected side by side while keeping almost entirely separate card lists.
This guide covers the full White Flare card list, the White Flare chase cards collectors look for first, what is inside the Pokémon White Flare ETB and how the booster bundle, mini tins, Victini collection and Japanese and Korean boxes compare. Collecting Zekrom’s side as well? Our Black Bolt card list covers that set’s chase cards and its booster bundle and binder in detail.

White Flare at a Glance
White Flare is a special set rather than a standard expansion, which affects both its card list and the products it was sold in. These are the facts worth knowing before you open a pack.
- Full name: Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—White Flare
- English release: 18 July 2025, with some products following on 1 August and 22 August
- Set abbreviation: WHT, the code you will see in tournament deck lists
- Size: 173 cards, with 86 in the main set and 87 secret rares
- Mascot: Reshiram ex, whose Black White Rare is the final card in the set
- Japanese source set: White Flare (SV11W), released in Japan on 6 June 2025
- Sold in English as: Elite Trainer Boxes, booster bundles, binder collections, mini tins and other collections, but not booster boxes
That last point surprises a lot of people. White Flare and Black Bolt were not sold as booster boxes in English, so the Pokémon White Flare ETB and the booster bundle are the main ways to open English packs. Sealed White Flare booster boxes do exist, but they are Asian-language releases such as the Japanese and Korean boxes we cover below.
Inside the White Flare Card List
Pokémon split the Unova Pokédex between the two twins, so White Flare has its own selection of Unova Pokémon, its own Trainers and its own legendary. Every card carries a number out of 086, which makes it easy to spot a secret rare: anything numbered 087 or higher.
Cards 001 to 086
The main White Flare card list runs from 001 to 086 and holds the Commons, Uncommons, Rares and Double Rares. The six Pokémon ex appear here as Double Rares, with Reshiram ex at 020/086.
As in Black Bolt, Common, Uncommon and Rare Pokémon come in a standard reverse holo plus Poké Ball and Master Ball pattern parallels, while Common and Uncommon Trainers and Special Energy get the reverse holo and Poké Ball versions only. That is why a master set of White Flare is a much bigger job than the number 173 suggests.
Cards 087 to 173
White Flare has one more secret rare than Black Bolt, giving it 87 cards above the main set:
- Illustration Rares, 087 to 156: 70 cards giving single Unova Pokémon full illustrated artwork, grouped by type
- Ultra Rares, 157 to 164: Whimsicott ex, Reshiram ex, Keldeo ex, Jellicent ex, Hydreigon ex and Bouffalant ex, plus the Supporters Harlequin and Hilda
- Special Illustration Rares, 165 to 171: the same six Pokémon ex plus Hilda
- Black White Rares, 172 and 173: Victini, printed in red, and Reshiram ex in black and white
The Black White Rare is the new rarity introduced with these twin sets. Pokémon’s official announcement describes it as using illustrations in a monochromatic black or white design. Reshiram ex follows that style, while Victini is the exception: its Black White Rare is printed in red, and it is the same card as Black Bolt’s apart from the set code and number. With only two in the set, they are the last two numbers on the White Flare card list.
White Flare Chase Cards: Our Top 10
Our pick of the White Flare chase cards is below, with numbers and rarities checked against Bulbapedia and Limitless TCG. It is a selection of the cards collectors talk about most, and we have left prices out on purpose, because they move every week and depend heavily on condition.
| Number | Card | Rarity | Why collectors want it |
|---|---|---|---|
| 172/086 | Victini | Black White Rare | The red Victini, widely seen as the biggest chase across both twins; Black Bolt has the same card at 171 |
| 173/086 | Reshiram ex | Black White Rare | Reshiram in the new black-and-white style, closing the whole list |
| 166/086 | Reshiram ex | Special Illustration Rare | Reshiram shown in a wide illustrated scene |
| 171/086 | Hilda | Special Illustration Rare | The set’s only Supporter at this rarity, starring a Black and White player character |
| 169/086 | Hydreigon ex | Special Illustration Rare | Unova’s three-headed favourite in full scene artwork |
| 167/086 | Keldeo ex | Special Illustration Rare | A Mythical Pokémon from Unova in scene artwork |
| 168/086 | Jellicent ex | Special Illustration Rare | A less obvious ex choice that has won plenty of fans |
| 107/086 | Samurott | Illustration Rare | The final evolution of Unova’s Water-type starter |
| 143/086 | Zoroark | Illustration Rare | One of Unova’s best-loved Pokémon |
| 103/086 | Chandelure | Illustration Rare | A much-loved Unova Pokémon in full-art form |
Whimsicott ex (165/086) and Bouffalant ex (170/086) complete the set’s seven Special Illustration Rares. They tend to get less attention than the cards above, but they are essential if you are completing the full White Flare card list.
Illustration Rares by type
With 70 Illustration Rares, White Flare is a set many people collect for the artwork alone. The set list on Bulbapedia and Limitless TCG shows them grouped by type, which makes binder planning easier:
- Grass: 087 to 095
- Fire: 096 to 104
- Water: 105 to 113
- Lightning: 114 to 118
- Psychic: 119 to 126
- Fighting: 127 to 135
- Darkness: 136 to 147
- Metal: 148 to 150
- Dragon: 151
- Colorless: 152 to 156
If you use nine-pocket pages, leaving space for each type block keeps the binder in order even when your pulls arrive in a random sequence.
The Six Pokémon ex of White Flare
White Flare’s Pokémon ex are Whimsicott ex, Reshiram ex, Keldeo ex, Jellicent ex, Hydreigon ex and Bouffalant ex. Each one appears three times on the White Flare card list, as a Double Rare, an Ultra Rare and a Special Illustration Rare, and Reshiram ex adds a fourth version as a Black White Rare.
It is a varied line-up. Reshiram ex is the obvious headline, Keldeo ex adds a Mythical Pokémon and Hydreigon ex gives fans of Unova’s three-headed dragon something to chase. Whimsicott ex, Jellicent ex and Bouffalant ex are less familiar choices, which is part of what makes the set feel different from a standard expansion.
Reshiram ex: Four Cards to Collect
Reshiram ex appears four times on the White Flare card list: as a Double Rare at 020, an Ultra Rare at 158, a Special Illustration Rare at 166 and a Black White Rare at 173. Collecting all four makes a tidy goal for anyone who prefers to focus on one Pokémon rather than chase the whole set.
After the red Victini, the Black White Rare version is the card most people mean when they talk about White Flare chase cards. It mirrors Black Bolt’s Zekrom ex Black White Rare, so many collectors aim to own both legendary dragons in the new rarity, one from each twin.
Hilda and the Other White Flare Trainers
Hilda was one of the player characters in Pokémon Black and White, so a Special Illustration Rare of her was always likely to be popular. Besides her regular card at 084/086, she appears twice in the secret rares, as an Ultra Rare at 164/086 and a Special Illustration Rare at 171/086. The other Ultra Rare Supporter is Harlequin at 163/086.
Trainer SIRs often become some of the most talked-about White Flare chase cards, because they appeal to fans of the games as well as card collectors. If you only want one Trainer card from the set, the Hilda Special Illustration Rare is the one to aim for.
Victini: The Pokémon Shared by Both Twins
Victini is the link between the two sets. The same red Victini Black White Rare appears in both, differing only in set code and number: 172/086 in White Flare and 171/086 in Black Bolt. It is widely regarded as the biggest chase card across the twins, and anyone completing both sets needs one copy from each.
There is also a dedicated product. The Unova Victini Illustration Collection, which we list as English – Illustration Victini Black Bolt & White Flare – Collection Box, was released on 1 August 2025. It contains two White Flare packs, two Black Bolt packs, a full-art foil Victini promo, a premium parallel foil Victini card, an oversize illustration rare-style Victini promo and a code card for Pokémon TCG Live.

The promo cards in this collection are separate from the Victini Black White Rares in packs, so they will not complete your White Flare card list on their own. They are a good choice for display, and the four packs give you a taste of both sets. Browse our collection boxes for other Pokémon collections with promo cards.
Pokémon White Flare ETB: What’s Inside
The Pokémon White Flare ETB is the best-known English product for the set, and it suits new players, gift buyers and collectors alike. The Pokemon TCG: Scarlet & Violet – White Flare – Elite Trainer Box contains:
- 9 White Flare booster packs
- 1 full-art foil promo card featuring Tornadus
- 65 card sleeves
- 45 Energy cards
- 1 player’s guide to the White Flare expansion
- 6 damage-counter dice and 1 competition-legal coin-flip die
- 2 condition markers
- 1 collector’s box with 4 dividers
- 1 code card for Pokémon TCG Live
The Tornadus promo is specific to the Pokémon White Flare ETB; the Black Bolt Elite Trainer Box comes with Thundurus instead. The Tornadus card is a promo, so it sits outside the 173 numbered cards and is a bonus rather than a gap in your set.
The sturdy box and dividers are also useful long after the packs are opened. Many collectors use the Pokémon White Flare ETB box to store their White Flare bulk and duplicates, sorted by the dividers.
The White Flare Booster Bundle and Mini Tins
If you want packs without accessories, the Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—White Flare Booster Bundle (6 Booster Packs) contains six White Flare packs. It was released on 22 August 2025, a little over a month after the Elite Trainer Box.

The booster bundle has fewer packs than the Pokémon White Flare ETB, but it has no sleeves or dice, so it suits collectors who already own accessories. Buying a couple of bundles is a straightforward way to work through the White Flare card list in English.
Mini tins are the smallest option. Each Unova Mini Tin holds one White Flare pack, one Black Bolt pack, a sticker card and an art card matching the tin, and there are eight tin designs. Our English – Black Bolt White Flare – Mini Tin Display Case is a display case of these mini tins, a good option for gifts or for collecting the different tin artworks.
Other official White Flare products
Pokémon also released a few products we have not covered above. The White Flare Binder Collection combines five packs with a Reshiram nine-pocket binder, and the White Flare Tech Sticker Collection has three packs, an illustration rare-style promo and a sticker sheet (Pokémon’s announcement names Reuniclus and Gothitelle as the promos across the two twins’ versions). The Unova Poster Collection mixes two packs of each twin with Snivy, Tepig and Oshawott promos and a two-sided poster.
Japanese and Korean White Flare Booster Boxes
Sealed boxes of White Flare come from Asia. The Japanese edition (SV11W) reached shops on 6 June 2025, roughly six weeks ahead of the English release, in boxes of 20 seven-card packs. A separate 35-card Deluxe pack, with at least one Art Rare or better in each, was also sold in Japan, so read product names carefully when comparing.

The Japanese Pokémon White Flare Booster Box follows the Japanese card list, which is numbered differently from the English one. The Japanese Reshiram ex Black White Rare is card 174, for example, and the Hilda Special Art Rare is 173. You will also see different rarity codes on Japanese cards: AR for what English sets call an Illustration Rare, and SAR in place of Special Illustration Rare.
The Korean Pokémon White Flare Booster Box is a Korean-language edition, released in Korea on 1 August 2025 and built on the Japanese SV11W card list, so its card numbers match the Japanese release rather than the English White Flare card list. Collectors who mix languages tend to give each one its own binder so numbers never get confused.

Most UK players build their decks from English cards, so Japanese and Korean boxes appeal mainly to collectors and to anyone who enjoys filming their openings. You will find more Japanese releases in our Japanese Pokémon cards category.
White Flare or Black Bolt?
Most people end up collecting both twins, but if you are choosing one to start with, these differences help.
- Legendary: White Flare has Reshiram ex, Black Bolt has Zekrom ex.
- Size: White Flare has 173 cards, one more secret rare than Black Bolt’s 172.
- Pokémon ex: White Flare’s six include Hydreigon ex and Keldeo ex; Black Bolt’s include Kyurem ex, Meloetta ex and Genesect ex.
- Trainer SIR: Hilda in White Flare, N’s Plan in Black Bolt.
- Shared card: the red Victini Black White Rare, at 172 in White Flare and 171 in Black Bolt.
- Elite Trainer Box promo: Tornadus in the Pokémon White Flare ETB, Thundurus in the Black Bolt ETB.
If Hilda, Reshiram or Samurott are your favourites, White Flare is the natural place to begin. For a full comparison from the other side, read our Black Bolt card list.
Collecting Tips for the White Flare Card List
A little organisation makes a twin set much easier to finish. These tips answer some of the most common questions collectors ask.
- Pick a target. Choose between the 86-card main set, the full 173 cards or a master set with every parallel.
- Write down parallel types. Poké Ball and Master Ball parallels count as separate cards, and they are easy to mix up in a pile.
- Protect secret rares at once. Sleeve and top-load Special Illustration Rares and Black White Rares the moment they come out of the pack.
- Swap with Black Bolt collectors. Friends opening the other twin often have spare White Flare cards from mixed products.
- Finish with singles. Buying the last few secret rares is usually more efficient than opening more packs.
- Keep a checklist. A printed or digital copy of the White Flare card list, ticked off as you go, stops you buying the same single twice.
If you collect both twins, matching binders work well. Keeping Reshiram and Zekrom, or Hilda and N’s Plan, on facing pages shows off how the two sets were designed to mirror each other, and it makes gaps on either side easy to spot.
