Collecting Violet ex in Korean
Violet ex takes its name from Pokémon Violet, the game whose box legend is Miraidon, and its card list differs from Scarlet ex. Opening a sealed box is a satisfying way to build a Korean set from the first expansion of the era, and the five-card packs give you thirty separate openings. Pair it with a Scarlet ex box for both halves of the launch, or add Triplet Beat to continue the story. Thirty packs also leave room to swap duplicates with friends collecting the same set.
Booster Box or Premium Trainer Box?
On 21 April 2023 Pokémon Korea released a Premium Trainer Box ex that splits its 20 packs evenly between Scarlet ex and Violet ex and adds deck-building cards. It’s a good starter for new players, while this booster box focuses entirely on Violet ex with thirty packs. Korean cards aren’t accepted at English-language Play! Pokémon events, so this box is mainly for collectors.
