Description
Buy the First Partner Series 1 Illustration Collection from Obsidia TCG and start collecting the 30th anniversary first partner promos. Released on 20 March 2026, Series 1 covers the first partner Pokémon from Kanto, Sinnoh and Alola.
What’s in the First Partner Series 1 Collection
- 1 special booster pack with 3 of 9 illustration rare-style promo cards
- 2 additional Pokémon TCG booster packs
- 1 sticker sheet featuring Kanto, Sinnoh and Alola first partners
The nine possible promos are Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Rowlet, Litten and Popplio, as listed on Bulbapedia’s Mega Evolution merchandise page. Each box gives you three of them at random, so duplicates across boxes are possible.
Collecting All Nine
Because every box holds three of the nine promos, collectors aiming for the full Series 1 set usually open several. The illustration rare-style artwork shows each Pokémon in its own scene, so the cards look great side by side in a nine-pocket binder page. Series 2 continues the idea with Johto, Unova and Galar first partners, and Series 3 followed in August 2026. Our First Partner Illustration Collection guide explains every series.
Who It’s For
First Partner Series 1 is an easy gift for anyone who started their Pokémon journey with Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle, and it’s a fun, low-commitment way for younger fans to try the hobby with a few packs and stickers.
How It Compares
The Ascended Heroes Pin Collection gives you three fixed first partner promos. This box swaps that certainty for surprise: you won’t know which three of the nine illustration cards you have until you open the special pack, which is part of the fun for many collectors.
