- Simplified Chinese cards
How Gem Packs Work
Gem Packs are designed around collecting. Each Pokémon in the set appears on a run of numbered cards that climb through five rarity tiers, from ● and ◆ up to ★, ★★ and the top ★★★ art cards, and the cards use a range of holo and foil patterns. Bulbapedia’s Gem Pack Vol. 1 page lists the full set, which leans heavily on Pokémon Horizons: The Series.
Exclusive Horizons Cards
The headline cards show the anime’s trainers with their partners: Liko with Sprigatito, Roy with Fuecoco, Dot with Quaxly and Friede with Captain Pikachu. These illustrations weren’t released in other languages, which is why the Chinese Gem Pack Vol 1 Booster Box appeals to Horizons fans as much as to Chinese card collectors. Opening a full box also gives you a good start on the numbered runs for the Paldea starters, and the single higher-rarity card in each pack keeps every opening interesting.
