The set puts heroic Trainers and their partners up against Team Rocket. On one side you’ll find Cynthia’s Garchomp ex, Ethan’s Ho-Oh ex and Arven’s Mabosstiff ex; on the other, Team Rocket’s Pokémon such as Mewtwo ex, under Giovanni’s command. Destined Rivals has 182 regular cards and more than 240 in total including secret cards, all listed on Bulbapedia’s Destined Rivals page. Like Journey Together before it, the set features Trainer’s Pokémon, so each of these cards names the Trainer it belongs to, which makes sorting a binder by side surprisingly satisfying. Pack contents are random, so no particular card is guaranteed.
